“Travelling leaves you speechless, then turns you into a storyteller.” – Ibn Battuta.

We had such a beautiful experience during our stay in Port Blair, Andamans, that I simply have to write our experiences so that you know what to expect once staying at SeaShell Coral Cove, one of the absolutely best hotels in Port Blair.

During our stay in Seashell Coral Cove, we approached the reception to help us plan our vacation as we were completely clueless. They were extremely helpful and super resourceful. They got taxis, tickets, and sightseeing organised for us on the spot. We were very impressed.

For food recommendations of our first two nights at their open-air rooftop lounge bar ‘KAI’ do read our previous review here

On our third night at SeaShell Coral Cove, there was a birthday party at the hotel using the entire top floor. The hotel is famous for their banquets and events and depending on the size of the event, they give out their conference hall, Akansha, which accommodates between 85 to 150 people depending on the cluster or theatre seating format. This particular party involved cocktails and plenty of fun youngsters who even invited us to join in when they heard we didn’t want to miss a single night at KAI. And we had another round of the famous flaming shooters that gave the whole party a new lease of life and next level of fun. The hotel also organises serious corporate meetings and conferences on the same floor. What a location and view for a grand work vacation!!!

The boutique hotel Seashell Coral Cove, has three room types: StandardExecutive, and Club. The view from these rooms is so refreshing with so many different kinds of birds visiting the well-looked-after garden and lush forest which your room windows overlook. Situated in an upmarket and quiet locality one can never be worried about missing your flight when your hotel is literally a stone’s throw away from it. The view of the airport runway lit up at night is by far the best view of the city.

During the day we decided to try their in-house fine-dining restaurant Mariposa…we loved every dish we ordered. Should you decide to take our word for it and try this restaurant, we recommend their Tandoori lobster and crab masala with your choice of bread (we chose butter garlic naan) – simply yummm. There was also their Kashmiri Pulao loaded with dry fruits and nuts, served with butter chicken gravy. If you’re more of a chicken person then you must try the chicken Peshawari with stuffed Kulchas. And if you’re a vegetarian then just order their Sabzi Adraki that’s a yummy gravy dish with laccha paratha. Try any and all their deserts. We loved them all, especially their apple crumble and sizzling brownie with ice cream!

And the absolute best part of staying here, apart from everything mentioned above, is their buffet breakfast included with your room tariff! You get South Indian, North Indian, Continental, fresh fruits and juice, from eggs of your choice and chicken sausages to the best ever vadas and uttapams I’ve tasted! We’ve definitely put a few extra kilos on but then, vacation calories don’t count, so it’s all good – just go for it!
